Resident Evil 9 true ending (Canon)
If you choose to release the Elpis, this will trigger the canon ending. Zeno will arrive and inject himself with Elphis, which will make him lose his enhanced abilities.
Then, Victor Gideon will arrive and kill Zeno. At the same time, Grace will cure Leon by using Elpis. Then, we will have the final battle between Leon and Victor, who transforms into a Nemesis-like form reminiscent of Resident Evil 3.
After you defeat Victor, BSAA arrives, and Leon is contacted by Captain Redfield (likely Chris Redfield), who wants to have a conversation with him.
It is a tease of a wider story about the BSAA and a hint at what the following chapter of the franchise will be. It is revealed that Elpis is a possible universal cure against the bioweapons of Umbrella, which could remake the fate of the series.
Resident Evil Requiem bad ending: Leon Kennedy dies!
If the player chooses to destroy Elpis, then you will have a disaster. Leon, who had developed advanced Raccoon City Syndrome, confronts a new enemy of the same kind, Zeno, who is like Wesker.
Leon is frail and ill and he fights poorly. When the ARK complex collapses, he assists Grace in escaping; however, Zeno shoots him and he dies. Meanwhile, Zeno is buried in the ruins.
Grace is filled with regrets. This halts Leon’s story and does not move the story any further, which is why it is not considered canon.
