Insomniac's Wolverine gameplay & release timeline revealed at PlayStation State of Play

It’s about time! The claws are waiting for some blood

It’s about damn time that Insomniac revealed the Wolverine gameplay and trailer at the PlayStation State of Play event, which was held on September 24, 2025.

Fans have been waiting for so long to see Logan in a gruesome and bloody action. Insomniac understood the project that delivered an accurate gameplay trailer to hype up the game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Wolverine gameplay trailer & release

It’s now officially confirmed by Insomniac and PlayStation Studios that Marvel’s Wolverine game will release in fall 2026.

The latest trailer showcased the gameplay and the actor, Liam McIntyre, who will be playing Logan in the game. In the trailer, we also saw Mystique and there is a possibility that we are going to see more familiar characters (Deadpool maybe) in the game.

The biggest concern that I had with the game was how much Insomniac and PlayStation would tone down the combat, blood and gruesome scenes for which Logan is known.

However, after watching the Wolverine gameplay trailer, my worries were for naught. They absolutely nailed it and they didn’t shy away from making this game 18+.

On the other hand, Liam is looking amazing as Logan. I never thought I would like someone other than Hugh Jackman, but Liam has absolutely nailed the role for Logan.

Final Thoughts

The ransomware attack that leaked over 1.67 terabytes of data in late 2023 put this game in questionable circumstances. Everyone doubted whether this will even be released or not.

However, now we can be assured that Insomniac is going to deliver one of the best Wolverine games that has ever been made. Personally, I am so excited for this and can’t wait to see more from Insomniac Games in the future.
