During the r/Games Divinity AMA, a fan asked about Baldur’s Gate 3 for the Switch 2 console and whether it is possible or not.
Swen Vincke replied to him by saying, “We would have loved to, but it wasn’t our decision to make.”
It clearly indicates that they are not hardware problems for them; instead, the problem lies somewhere else. So for now, we won’t be getting the game on Nintendo’s latest handheld.
Why is Baldur’s Gate 3 not coming to Switch 2?
Although Swen Vincke really didn’t reveal the full information, the famous leaker, NateTheHate, clarified some details on X:
While Larian would love to bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Switch 2… their relationship with Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast is not healthy.
For now, their relationship is in a bad place for now. On the other hand, one user also asked, “Whether Divinity will come to Switch 2 or not?” Nate replied that the CEO said that they will consider this.
That’s the only hope Nintendo fans now have to play the brilliant turn-based games made by Larian Studios. Although it is quite disappointing that a game like Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be playable on Switch 2.
