New hidden Athena and Ra cutscenes

Santa Monica has officially announced the God of War trilogy remake, with TC Carson returning as Kratos and Shadow dropping Sons of Sparta. Now, many fans are wondering what’s the next journey for Kratos.

The recent datamine infromation has revealed some new hidden cutscenes from GOW: Ragnarök. This is the content that cannot be accessed during gameplay.

Interestingly, this is akin to a discovery in 2018’s GOW, in which buried files suggested tale aspects that later became important to Ragnarök. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Athena’s return and mysterious “Higher Plane” beings

In one of the newly discovered hidden cutscene features, “beings from a higher plane” are discussing Arterus and Odin. Among them is Athena, a major figure from the original Greek saga.

One of the dialogues of Athena was also revealed:

“One failed us. One rejected us,” and “We have a problem.”

For now, the exact context of this remains unclear. But fans are speculating that Athena could be referring to Odin as the one who failed and Arterus as the one who rejected them.

Egyptian connections: Ra and “Mau”

Another hidden cutscene shows Arterus travelling to meet beings from other pantheons and he is accompanied by a character named Mau.

“Mau” is the Egyptian word for cat and is often associated with the manifestation of Ra, the Sun God in Egyptian mythology. According to reports, Mau, like Groot from Marvel, only speaks their own name, but Atreus understands them.

This leads to strong speculations that the next God of War could be based on Egyptian mythology.

Conclusion

Industry insider shinobi602 has previously claimed that the new God of War project, reportedly led by Cory Barlog, could launch somewhere around 2028.

The rumors and reports also suggest that Kratos may wield Egyptian-inspired weapons, including a curved blade and even a scythe.
