Not only will you be getting new heroes, but the whole team-up abilities have gotten a major overhaul, which will completely change the game. You might just say that this is Marvel Rivals 2. Let’s check out more details in this article.

New team-up system in Season 9

For the first time, every hero will have two team-up options available before each match.

Unlike other abilities that need another teammate to activate, choosing a Team-Up will immediately give the unique skill or passive effect to the teammate.

The enhanced version increases the ability even more if the matched teammate is also on your squad.

Now, you can enjoy the new abilities regardless of the team composition. Here’s an example for Hulk:

• Captain America Team-Up: Grants Hulk a powerful ground slam ability.
• Wolverine Team-Up: Provides crowd-control immunity.

Jubilee and The Hood are your new heroes

In Marvel Rivals Season 9, Jubilee will join the roster as a Strategist. Her gameplay focuses on healing teammates while dealing consistent damage to enemies with rapid-burst fire attacks.

Her Ultimate? Emites a healing pulse for your teammates while knocking back enemies. She might be perfect for the C9 position.

Meanwhile, The Hood will join the roster in Season 9.5 in August 2026. His role is currently unknown, but according to leaks, he is going to be Vanguard.

Black Widow rework

The fans and players have all been requesting a Black Widow rework. Their voices have finally been heard.

Here are the new key changes in her kit:

• Her sniper rifle now functions more like a DMR, delivering burst damage through regular shots.
• Her previous Ultimate has been converted into a standard ability.
• She now excels as a high-mobility dive Duelist.

Rechargeable shields

A brand new Rechargeable Shield mechanic is arriving in Marvel Rivals Season 9 for high-mobility heroes and flankers.

These heroes will get green health, which will automatically regenerate after five seconds outside of combat.

That’s not all, as there are new mini-events, a new battle pass, a new map which is arriving on July 23, 2026, the Path to Doomsday event on July 30, 2026, and new cosmetics. The full roadmap is also expected to be revealed very soon.
