Kai Cenat, Franklin VA & GTA madness

Kai Cenat’s recent marathon which is Living In GTA 5 With Franklin For 24 Hours! recently brought him and Franklin voice actors in the f block in real life.

His fans were going insane and they loved all the interaction and references from GTA. Shawn Fonteno also shared his insights into his life that strikingly mirror his character’s backstory.

In an open conversation, Fonteno disclosed that his early life circumstances were remarkably similar to Franklin’s:

“Rockstar knew what they were doing when they cast us, man. They really picked the right folks for this. My life? It’s been like Franklin’s, seriously. I’ve got scars from bullets, lived through the gang life. I’ve seen some things, so stepping into Franklin’s shoes wasn’t a stretch for me.“

Fonteno also discussed his path to getting the position at Rockstar Games. Contrary to expectations, his journey was plagued with uncertainty:

“I went through this wild process to get the part. Had to go in for an interview with a room full of young guys, and I thought, ‘No way I’m getting this.’ But something about my voice, my vibe, must have clicked with them because they called me back.”

Fans and even Kai asked him about his involvement in GTA 6 or any new updates. However, he was pretty silent regarding this and didn’t disclose anything on the livestream. However, he said something that might give hope to fans:

“I’m tight with Rockstar, we’ve got a good thing going. As for what’s next with GTA… well, that’s all I’ll say on that for now.”

This exchange not only revealed Fonteno’s personal relationship with Franklin, but it also highlighted the sincerity that actors like him bring to their parts in the GTA series.
