ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X price and pre-orders rumors

According to insider eXtas1s, the pre-orders for this handheld may start from August, with full launch expected in October 2025.

He also claimed that two European retailers have confirmed the price as well. The base ROG Xbox Ally will cost around €599, while the ROG Xbox Ally X is expected to cost €899.

Why no OLED displays?

Whitson Gordon, who is ASUS’s senior marketing manager for gaming, has recently shared his views about the decision to skip the OLED displays.

After rigorous research, the team discovered that OLEDs with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) consume too much power and increase expenses.

“In 2025, a gaming display without VRR isn’t cutting it,” Gordon explained.

Both ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are now going to feature 7-inch 1080p 120Hz LCDs with VRR. This will balance the performance and affordability.

Hardware highlights

The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor, 16GB LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, and 512GB storage, while the ROG Xbox Ally X has an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, and 1TB storage. Both run on Windows and provide a diverse gaming experience.
