Must-play expansion for souls fans
The upcoming Lies of P Overture DLC is shaping up to be one of the best things for souls fans. The early preview has already revealed what fans can get from this expansion.
This DLC is set to release in Summer 2025 and will be set as a prequel story. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Snowy, Creepy Zoo steals the show
Lies of P Overture will introduce a snow-covered Krat Zoo as its primary setting.
Critics from sites like TechRadar deem it “one of the best Soulslike levels” they’ve ever played, praising its imaginative and visually appealing environments.
This isn’t your normal zoo, as it is filled with mutated animals and intricate paths. It is expected that the expansion might give players roughly 15-20 hours of playthrough.
New difficulty options for all players
Lies of P is not a souls-like like, it is a souls game and it’s very difficult for any newcomer who hasn’t played any souls game before.
That is why the developers are introducing two new difficulty modes alongside the default, now called Legendary Stalker:
- Butterfly’s Guidance is a more forgiving alternative for story-driven players.
- Awakened Puppet: A more difficult challenge for veterans.
These modes will be available on the base game and the DLC as well.
According to Director Jiwon Choi, community feedback prompted the update, guaranteeing that both novices and purists may enjoy Krat’s environment in Lies of P Overture.
Boss rush modes
Two new modes will enhance Lies of P Overture even more:
- Battle Memories: After finishing the game, players can access this mode via the Hotel Krat Stargazer, which allows them to rematch bosses from the base game and Overture across five difficulty levels. Tiers 1-3 are available right away, with Tiers 4-5 unlocked after completing the lower levels.
- Death March is a hard boss rush in which players confront at least three enemies in a row with limited health and supplies, each giving unique rewards.
New weapons and enemy variety
This is the best part in Lies of P Overture, as new weapons such as Gunblade, Talon Claws, and Royal Bow are introduced to make combat even more interesting.
According to Game Rant, the “impressive enemy variety,” with mutated species needing new methods, makes exploring and battling exciting for New Game Plus runs.
