Lost Soul Aside official release date & new gameplay revealed

Lost Soul Aside, the project started by a single developer and UltiZero Games collaboration with Sony has now finally revealed the official release date after so many years.

The game is all set to release on August 29, 2025. It has been delayed recently as it was supposed to launch on May 30, 2025. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Official release, pre-orders and more

The road to this announcement has been peppered with quiet times, but recent months have seen a rise in updates, culminating in the reveal of the release date at the most recent State of Play event.

The game will release on August 29, 2025 and will be available to play on PS5 and PC. Pre-orders for the game are all set to begin on February 19, 2025.

Notably, playing the game on PC will require a PSN account, a strategy that Sony has altered between previous releases but appears to be sticking with for this one.

Lost Soul Aside journey

Initially, only one developer, Yang Bin, worked on the game. However, the proposal piqued Sony’s interest in 2016, and the company opted to provide financial, marketing, and production support for the game. Sony embraced the game so much that it chose to publish it as a second-party product.

What began as a one-person game has grown into an enormous endeavor involving almost 40 people. This latest gameplay and story shows the inspiration, which is pretty similar to Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry mix with futuristic settings.

The combat shown in the Lost Soul Aside also looks very incredible and I am pretty excited to play this game alongside Elden Ring in May.

“Lost Soul Aside follows the story of Kazer, a young swordsman who finds himself fused with a symbiotic supernatural race called Arena. The game is set in a war-torn fantasy world.“
