2025 was just a warm-up for NetEase!
It won’t be a lie to say that it was an amazing first year for Netease hero shooter, Marvel Rivals. The game has managed to gain a huge player base on both PC and console.
Game Producer Danny Koo claimed in an interview with Den of Geek that 2025 was just a warm-up for Rivals. There are much bigger plans for the game in 2026. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Marvel Rivals 2025: The Warm-Up act
Dan and other developers at NetEase are pretty hyped for the game’s content and future. They already have the content mapped out beyond next year, even into 2027.
This is what Danny has to say:
“2025 was more of a warm-up period for us. Next year, we’re going to have bigger plans. We’re not going to slow down.”
Despite initial peaks and falls, Rivals prospered, with weekly material keeping players engaged. The developers are pretty hyped as they are releasing new content every week and bigger season updates every month.
Everyone in the company wants to make this the biggest game possible.
2026 and beyond
The start of the year is going to be with Season 6, when Deadpool joins the roster. The fans are pretty hyped about his addition to the game, with Elsa Bloodstone teased as the next character to join in Season 6.5.
The developers’ pipeline for content is already packed for 2026 and even planned ahead into 2027. On the PvE, they were able to drop the zombie mode, which was in development for 6 months and received huge praise and a player count spike on the release.
The developers are going to work on more PvE modes and make them even better; however, they will need some time. There are more new skins coming ahead this weekend, with a surprise New Year’s event planned for Marvel Rivals.
