Itâs time to cook and burn enemies!
NetEase has revealed the official hero for the upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 3, which is Jean Grey âPhoenix.â In this article, we will check Phoenix abilities and how players can use her in the ranked battles.
She is the first duelist character joining in Season 3, while Blade, whose role is still a mystery, will join the roster in Season 3.5. Letâs find out more details in this article.
Phoenix abilities explained!
Jean Grey, aka Phoenix, is the newest character who will be joining Season 3 as a duelist with a 275 health pool.
Her primary fire, which is the âleft clickâ, is like a fire projectile. When you hit the enemies, they will get a little meter above their head, like a mark.
When itâs full or on 3rd hit, Phoenix can literally heal herself, which can be considered her passive ability and deals additional damage.
Now, for her âShiftâ, itâs like a small distance teleport or blink, leaving a projection on her original position. That projection later explodes, which deals some damage.
Her âE abilityâ makes Jean Grey and Phoenix merge and she basically has free flight. This also seems like this ability has no cooldown and also reloads her primary fire in the process.

Phoenixâs âRight Clickâ does an insane burst of damage. She is also the anchor of team-up ability with Wolverine, where his claws are infused with Phoenix force, which does damage over time and gets life steal on damage.
Her âUltimate abilityâ is the real game changer in Marvel Rivals. She emerges as Phoenix flying in the sky with a 20-second timer in the air (shown in the trailer).
She just crashes down in the area while doing massive AOE damage and also does damage over time.
It even canceled Hela Ultimate on air, while dismissing all the summons and equipment from the heroes like Loki, Rocket, Peni, etc.
How to use her?
After watching the official trailer and her abilities, I am pretty sure she is going to be perma-banned alongside Wolverine in most of the ranked matches.
If you are picking Phoenix, you have to be the frontline DPS, who deals most of the damage and takes most of the kills. Play as aggressive DPS alongside tanks and flankers.
Using her Ultimate to cancel Hela Ultimate or clear out summons and items from the map.
The early access for Phoenix and the new map will be shown pretty soon, as creators and streamers will get access 3-4 days before the Marvel Rivals Season 3 launch.
At that time, we would be able to learn more about her properly and how to use her in the ranked matches.
