Multiple companies are interested in acquiring Arkane Studios

According to the Bloomberg report, three companies have submitted their offer to Microsoft to acquire Arkane Studios. Famous publisher and developer Ubisoft is one of them, while the other two companies’ names remain undisclosed.

In the reports, it also suggested that Microsoft has until December 13, 2026, to finalize the sale. If there is no agreement is reached, then there is another option to sell the studio to its current management.

Both of these options will save the studio from facing closure.

What does this mean for Marvel’s Blade?

This game was first officially revealed at The Game Awards 2023 and quickly became one of the most anticipated Marvel games.

The title is a single-player action-adventure game set around the fabled vampire hunter Blade.

Playing in France, the game will offer Arkane’s renowned immersive experience, featuring elements of exploration, stealth, combat and choice.

If Arkane Studio secures a buyer, then the game development will continue smoothly without facing any major disruption. This could also put the game back on track for a potential 2027 or 2028 release.

Is Marvel’s Blade cancelled?

No. Marvel’s Blade has not been cancelled. Development is reportedly ongoing while Microsoft explores options for Arkane Studios’ future.

Who wants to buy Arkane Studios?

According to reports, Ubisoft and two other unnamed gaming companies have submitted acquisition offers to Microsoft.

When could Marvel’s Blade release?

If Arkane’s future is secured, the game could reportedly launch in 2027 or 2028, although no official release date has been announced.
