It’s hunting time with friends!

We are just a few days away from the Monster Hunter Wilds launch and fans are currently wondering about the Crossplay and Cross-Save feature in the game.

As Capcom’s next installment in the famous genre, this action RPG promises vast, untamed landscapes brimming with colossal animals. However, the answers to crossplay and cross-save are a mixed bag of good and bad news. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Crossplay: Hunt together, No matter the Platform

YES,” Monster Hunter Wilds has a crossplay feature which means that PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, no matter which platform everyone can hunt together in the game.

This is switched on automatically by default, so you don’t have to stress about this in the settings option. Random matchmaking is simple: start or join a mission, and you’ll find yourself in a lobby with up to 100 hunters, making it simple to form groups with strangers.

Now, if you want to play with your friends, this is a little complicated. To invite friends on the same platform, simply utilize your console or PC’s friend list. For cross-platform friends, get your Hunter ID from the “Hunter Profile” under the Info page and share it. They’ll use the “Hunter ID Search” option in the Communications menu to make a friend request.

Once accepted, add them to your Hunter Friends list using the “Link Party” feature for seamless future hunts. Speaking with Alma at your campground sends fast quest invitations to your party—it’s straightforward once set up. These steps were tried throughout the open beta, so expect small changes at launch.

No Cross-Save feature?

Sadly, there is no cross-save feature in Monster Hunter Wilds. This means that if you are playing on PS5 and then you have to shift to PC, your saved data won’t carry there. You have to play the game from the start.

No save transfers, no shared DLC. It’s a bummer for those who enjoy switching between systems or want to game on the go. If you are wondering about on which platform you should play Monster Hunter Wilds, I would say PC for better performance.

But if you don’t have a PC, then the console works fine. You will still be able to play with your friends who are on PC as well. Monster Hunter Wilds is all set to release on February 28, 2025.
