Xbox has no plans for now

Fans and gamers who were craving for a new Prototype game, a sequel or a remaster, here is some very bad news for you. Reliable Xbox insider, Jez Corden, has just revealed that the new game rumors and leaks were misinformation.

Jez Corden clears Prototype game rumors

Remember all the rumors and leaks about the game in 2025? It seems they were all fake, as Jez Corden has just revealed on the XB2 Podcast Discord Server. He clearly mentioned:

There’s currently no plans for the Prototype IP as of right now, anyone who claims otherwise is sadly misinformed…

A surprising Steam patch for the 2009 original adds new credits (Iron Galaxy references?) and test levels such as “Locomotion,” sparking remake rumors in September/October 2025. For this, Jez called it, “Nothing burger” and it was just a normal routine patch.

Post-$69B Activision buyout brought a huge hope for the fans to get a new Prototype game or a remaster of the old one. The franchise has already sold more than 5 million copies and is very popular among gamers.
