Recently, Microsoft and Xbox surprised everyone by announcing that Activision is developing the next Halo game in the franchise. Who is Activision? The studio behind the Call of Duty games.
Initially, many believed that this might be another remake just like Halo: Campaign Evolved; however, new rumors and reports suggest that there is something bigger in development.

According to a new rumored report from Hollywood Reporter, Activision’s Halo project is a “full-feature, mainline installment.”
Sadly, the report does not reveal whether this is a direct sequel to Halo Infinite or a completely new standalone title in the same universe. This project could also feature both a single-player campaign and multiplayer mode.
This would definitely be a different approach to the game than what was taken with Halo: Campaign Evolved, which never came with multiplayer and was all about rehashing the original game’s story.
What could the next game’s story be?
For now, there are no official details about the plot or synopsis. Halo Infinite has opened with the continuation of the story from Halo 5: Guardians, with the introduction of a new mystery character in the shape of the Endless, the next threat in the franchise.
