Nintendo Direct livestream: Switch 2, new game & more

New console reveal is finally here!

After 8 years of the Nintendo Switch, we are finally getting a Switch 2 console and the full reveal will be live stream on the Nintendo Direct event.

This event is scheduled for April 4, 2025, at 6 AM PT/ 9 AM ET and will be live-streamed on the official Nintendo YouTube and Twitch channels.

What can you expect from the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal?

The official announcement was revealed at the start of this year and now fans are finally close to the Direct event. More detailed information on the new console, like hardware specs, pricing, and a launch date, can be expected from this event.

We now know it will have magnetized Joy-Con controllers, backward compatibility with original Switch cartridges, and a simple method for transferring digital games. But this moment will finally bind everything together.

Game revealed can also be expected and many rumors are suggesting Mario Kart 9. There is also a chance that Nintendo might surprise the fans with some unexpected announcement.

If you want to be first to know, then make sure to watch the live stream on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT.

But the fun does not end there. Nintendo is doubling down with Treehouse: Live events on April 3 and 4, which will provide in-depth looks at some of the most anticipated Switch 2 releases.

GameCube rumors

Insider and famous leaker Nate The Hate has recently revealed during his latest podcast that Nintendo GameCube games could be coming to Nintendo Switch Online sooner. This was first reported by Insider Gaming.

This is what Nate has to say about the upcoming event: “I think it’s also going to be a good venue for them to go over Nintendo Switch Online enhancements and new platforms that will come to the Switch 2 and, likely, even the Switch itself in the future—maybe within that first launch year,”
