Overwatch 2 Season 15: How to get free loot boxes?

Old loot boxes are back!

With the new Overwatch 2 Season 15 live right now, Blizzard Entertainment has finally brought back the OG Loot boxes in the game. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hero, this article will show you how to get free treasure boxes without spending a dime.

It will involve weekly challenges to battle pass perks, here’s how you can get the loot boxes for free in the new season.

Grab free loot boxes in Overwatch 2 Season 15

The new Perked Up event which is running till April 22, 2025, is the way to go for the fans. Starting February 25, the second wave of this campaign allows you to earn up to ten free treasure boxes per week.

• Play 6 Matches: Complete six games to earn five treasure boxes—wins count twice, so you might finish this in as few as three wins.
• Play 10 matches: Add 10 more matches for an additional five boxes, with wins speeding you forward.

Blizzard is also giving out an additional 10 loot boxes per week during Season 15—just play 15 games (wins count double) as part of the event’s challenges.

If you miss a week, then the boxes will be gone as the challenges reset every Tuesday in the game. The first week of the Perked Up event brought Rainy Day Mercy skin. It is expected that more rewards will arrive in the following weeks.

In addition to events, you can get three loot boxes per week all year. Play up to 27 matches, with wins counting twice—monitor your progress in the top-right corner of the “Play” menu. It’s a regular supply of goodies for casual grinders.

That’s not all as once you hit Tier 36 on the free Battle Pass, you can claim the Legendary Loot Box. The best part of this box is that it is guaranteed to drop a legendary cosmetic. The Premium Battle Pass (1,000 Overwatch Credits, approximately $10) includes two additional Legendary crates in Overwatch 2.
