The fans and gamers are pretty excited as Blizzard Entertainment has revealed some amazing plans for Overwatch 2026. The game is going back to its roots, removing “2” from its name.
The roadmap for 2026 has also been revealed, which shares a massive year of updates, new heroes, and story-driven events under the theme “Reign of Talon.”
The Reign of Talon storyline will span four major seasons, with each season delivering new content to increase both gameplay and narrative growth, according to Blizzard.

Season 1 kicks off Reign of Talon
Overwatch season 1 will start on February 10, 2026 and will have one of the biggest content drops in the game’s history. Five new heroes will join the game: Mizuki, Emre, Domina, Anran, and Jetpack Cat Fika.
Fans can also expect a new Conquest event, which will focus on the ongoing clash between Overwatch and Ralon.
Addition of new heroes’ sub-passive, additional mythic cosmetics, competitive rank reset and updates to stadium mode. Vendetta is a new hero joining the stadium, plus there is also a new hero build feature. Collaboration with Hello Kitty will also be added.
Season 2 celebrates Overwatch’s anniversary
Season 2 will keep the momentum and will introduce a new hero. Fans can also expect new features, such as post-match accolades aim to enhance player recognition, while Ramattra joins Stadium mode.

Season 3 introduces a new map and esports focus
In season 3, we will get the new map, Japan Night, alongside another new hero for Overwatch 2026.
The Overwatch Champion Series will also make an appearance at the Esports World Cup, highlighting the competitive scene. As with prior seasons, more Mythic material is scheduled to appear.
Season 4 closes the year with global events
Overwatch 2026 season 4 will wrap up the Reign of Talon era with yet another new hero release, Blizzcon 2026 celebrations and return of the Overwatch World Cup.
More new heroes have been teased and beyond the content, Blizzard is also working on game presentation, changing UI and UX for new improved menus.
