Blizzard plans for the mobile version
More and more battle royale and esports games have been making their way into the mobile version, and now Overwatch mobile will also be added to the list.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has confirmed the mobile game’s development in his latest book. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Overwatch Mobile in development
This news was confirmed by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier in his latest book, Place Nice: The Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard Entertainment.
The book contains over 300 interviews of different Blizzard employees and it also reveals more plans that company had over the past years. There were also plans to make the Overwatch series on Netflix, however, it got scraped.
Currently, there are plans for the Overwatch Mobile which is in development.
“Overwatch was led by Walter Kong, who oversaw the release of regular heroes and content for Overwatch 2, as well as new projects like a mobile version of the franchise,” Jason Schreier said this in his book.

Release date and what to expect?
For now, there has been no information revealed about the release date of the game. However, we can expect that game to hit soon on Apple Store and Play Store in 2027. This is only if they don’t scrap their plans for this mobile game.
We can also see the Esports organizations and professional gamers having their interest aligned in the future. Valorant Mobile is also making its way next year and some of the Esports teams have been already formed.
The same thing can happen for the Overwatch mobile as well. Call of Duty mobile and PUBG have already been successful on mobile versions. Every year, there are so many tournaments held for both of these games with a good amount of prize money.
We still have to wait for the release of the game and then only we can decide whether it would be a success or not.
