The Counter-Strike fans are all hyped for the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. The top 24 teams will fight for the trophy and the prize pool of $1,250,000 million. All the way from Shanghai, this tournament will also last longer.

The CS2 tournament will start on November 30, 2024 and will end on December 15, 2024, in Shanghai, China. This event will take place in two different locations.

Prize Pool breakdown

Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 prize pool is going to be $1,250,000 million and it will be split between the competing teams. Here is the breakdown:

• 1st: $500,000
• 2nd: $170,000
• 3rd-4th: $80,000
• 5th-8th: $45,000
• 9th-11th: $20,000
• 12th-14th: $20,000
• 15th-16th: $20,000
• 17th-19th: $10,000
• 20th-22nd: $10,000
• 23rd-24th: $10,000

Full Format and Teams

On Liquipedia, the full format has been revealed for the tournament.

Opening Stage (November 30 – December 3, 2024)

• 16 Team Swiss System Format.
• Elimination and Advancement matches are best-of-three.
• All other matches are best-of-one.
• The top eight teams proceed to the Elimination Stage.
• The bottom eight teams are eliminated.

Elimination Stage (December 5 – December 8, 2024)

• 16 Team Swiss System Format.
• Elimination and Advancement matches are best-of-three.
• All other matches are best-of-one.
• The top eight teams proceed to the Playoff Stage.
• The bottom 8 teams are eliminated.

Playoff Stage (December 12 – December 15, 2024)

• Single-Elimination bracket.
• All matches are best-of-three.
