The game will now launch on October 29, 2026
One of the most anticipated action RPGs of the year from S-Games, Phantom Blade Zero, is now officially delayed. Instead of its previous September 9 release date, this game will now launch on October 29, 2026.
This announcement was made during the PlayStation State of Play. The developers have promised that there will be a dedicated State of Play for the game in Summer 2026, along with pre-orders going live. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Why was Phantom Blade Zero delayed?
In a new message shared with the community and fans, S-Game CEO and Phantom Blade Zero creator Soulframe has explained that their team needs a little more time to further improve several aspects of the experience.
This additional time is going to be spent on refining character models, enhancing environmental details, and improving the overall visual quality of the game.
The studio is dedicated to the fans and players who should experience the best possible version of the game on day one, rather than heavily relying on post-launch updates and fixes.
The developers have revealed that several character assets have already been upgraded and several in-game locations have undergone a massive reworking.
The team is also working hard on improving image quality for the players, who will not choose to use ray tracing. They want to ensure that the game will maintain a high visual standard across different hardware configurations.
Pre-orders & new gameplay showcase for Phantom Blade Zero
S-Games has officially confirmed that the pre-orders will begin later this Summer 2026. For this occasion, they will also release entirely new in-game footage.
S-Games is also preparing for a dedicated State of Play showcase for the game, which is expected to last 15-20 minutes and will feature:
- Combat systems
