Leon was revealed at The Game Awards 2025
All the fans and gamers were super excited when Resident Evil Requiem finally made an appearance at the Game Awards 2025 and revealed Leon S. Kennedy to officially join the game.
He is also going to be a playable character, just like the other protagonist, Grace. The game is all set to release on February 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Grace & Leon: The Perfect Gameplay Balance
In a new interview with Automaton-Media, director Akifumi Nakanishi detailed the duo’s gameplay split, drawing parallels with Resident Evil: Revelations.
“In terms of gameplay, Grace and Leon’s playable sections are almost equally split. Early dev worries about overwhelming players evolved into a “unique rhythm” blending both styles seamlessly.”
According to him, Resident Evil Requiem will almost feel like a two-game with a completely different style of tension mixed together.
Grace will deliver classic survival horror vibes: tense, resource-scarce stealth. For Leon, it is going to be action-packed and combat-heavy.
Leon will push his limit in Resident Evil Requiem
Akifumi Nakanishi has also described more about Leon’s character and how much he has change since he has become old now.
This time, the battle is going to push Leon to his limits and this will be the crucial part of his experience. He is also the type of person who doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice himself for others.
More about his designs:
“Although he’s a character who carries a lot on his shoulders, we took a lot of care in refining him to be an ‘ikeoji’ (a cool/attractive older guy). The reactions to the trailer on that front have made us happy (laughs).”
It is expected that we might see more Leon gameplay from Capcom, probably next month.
