According to Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson, the driving mechanics this time in the game are going to blend the heavy, grounded feel of GTA 4 with the easy handling of GTA 5.

GTA 6 driving mechanics were built from scratch
During the game preview and interview with TGG at Rockstar North, Rob Nelson explained that the driving and vehicle systems were created from scratch for the new hardware.
That’s enabled Rockstar to fine-tune vital components such as the drivetrain, tyres, suspension and steering, to a much greater degree than before.
This type of control should provide more realistic car behavior, particularly when dealing with loss of traction, car damage, and flipping after tire shots. It also means that Rockstar is taking note of the way different vehicles react to different situations.
This time, the driving will feel more realistic. Players might feel their cars are powerful and weighty; however, they will be easy enough so that players can control them easily.
