Rockstar's GTA 6 set to break all gaming records with $2B launch projection

12 years from the release of GTA 5, the next part of the franchise is finally releasing on May 26, 2025, and fans are pretty excited for it.

Industry experts at Konvoy, a venture capital group that predicts the gaming industry would be worth $186 billion by 2026, predict GTA 6 will sell 25 million copies in its first 24 hours at an estimated $80 USD price point—which Rockstar has not confirmed.

When compared to GTA 5, which sold 11.21 million copies and earned $815 million in 2013, the difference is startling.

Konvoy has also predicted that the 10 million pre-orders for this game will instantly net $800 million, doubling to $2 billion by day’s end.

There is no doubt that this will break the past record of GTA 5 historic three-day record as the fastest-selling entertainment product.

Within a week, it is expected that GTA 6 will sell 40 million copies and will climb up to 85 million copies in the first 60 days.
