Valve’s next big move
Since last year, fans and the community have seen many rumors that involve Valve’s Steam console. But there were only rumors and no further leaks arrived after that.
But now, things might have changed as tech insider eXtas1s, shared some interesting details on social media. Let’s check out more details in this article.
A new challenger in the Console arena?
According to eXtas1s, Valve is looking to expand beyond handhelds like the successful Steam Deck and into the stationary console market. According to the insider, Valve has been working with AMD, specifically on their RDNA 4 technology, which might power this future console.

What could this mean for the market?
- Competition for Exclusives: If this system runs SteamOS, it may threaten the exclusivity of certain games, particularly those from PlayStation, by making them available on Valve’s platform, potentially reducing the need for a separate PlayStation console.
- A Potential Game Changer or Another Miss? While the Steam Deck has been a success, Valve’s prior entry into the console sector, the Steam Machines, was less so. This raises the question of whether Valve can recreate the handheld’s success in a home console context.
As thrilling as these rumors are, they come with a warning. Valve has not officially announced any plans to develop a new system. Given Valve’s history of keeping projects under wraps, it’s best to treat these rumors with care. Until Valve makes an official announcement, the gaming community will continue to speculate.
Personally, I believe that having more consoles might be a better thing. In this way, Xbox and PlayStation have to step up their game in order to compete and deliver better products. This situation is a win-win for the fans and the company.
There is no doubt that PS5 has more domination in the console market. Valve Steam Console might turn things around as PlayStation might lose some market value. They would have to open up to all platforms in the future. What are your thoughts on Valve Steam Console and these rumors? Do share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
