Gary Dauberman, writer and producer, expressed his enthusiasm for adapting the beloved game into a film, saying, “As a huge fan of the Until Dawn game and how cinematic it was, I thought a lot about how we can continue the story without just giving the audience the same experience that they got when they were playing.”
The Until Dawn movie will also provide some fresh narrative while staying true to source material for the big screens.
Director David F. Sandberg, noted for his work in horror, stated that the film will keep the “tone and vibe” of the game while also “expanding upon the universe.” He emphasized one of the game’s new features: the consequences of player decisions. Sandberg explained, “The movie has this mechanic where things start over and they get to try again. Every time they come back to life, it’s like they’re in a new horror genre. To survive, they have to make it until dawn.”

What is the plot?
The film follows Clover, who, a year after her sister Melanie’s strange disappearance, travels with friends to the secluded region where Melanie went. Their search for answers at an abandoned visitor center becomes terrifying as they are pursued by a masked killer.
They go through a cycle of death and rebirth, with each loop bringing a fresh, frightening horror situation. The group must suffer this recurring nightmare, knowing that their prospects are fading and that survival depends on making it to daylight.
When Until Dawn movie is going to be released?
The gaming community and fans can mark their calendars for April 25, 2025. That’s when the Until Dawn movie will hit the theatres, bringing in some fresh horror narrative, suspense and spooky experience for the fans.
