After weeks of anticipation and rumors, Sony has finally announced the PlayStation State of Play event for Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
This is right before Nintendo Switch 2 launch; a very bold and smart move from Sony. This is the first State of Play since April 30, when the attention was on Borderlands 4, which was rather bleak.

Sony PlayStation’s State of Play live stream will start at 2 PM PT / 11 PM CEST/ 2:30 AM IST and will be available on YouTube and Twitch.
Sony has promised a 40-minute-long showcase, which will be fully packed with updates on “must-play games coming to PS5,” featuring a global lineup of titles.

What to expect & prediction?
PlayStation State of Play is going to highlight a selection of great games from creators across the globe. Fans’ excitement is currently through the roof.
This is what I expect and predict might be showcased at the event:
- Death Stranding 2
- Resident Evil 9
- New smaller God of War game
- Santa Monica’s new IP with Cory as director
- Rematch
- Lies of P DLC
- Saros 2nd trailer
- Any Final Fantasy game
- Wolverine or Venom standalone game (Maybe)
- Any Xbox games coming to PS5
- Copium for fans: Any Bloodborne-related update or news
Personally, I am pretty hyped for the PlayStation State of Play event and can’t wait to see what sort of surprises Sony is going to reveal.
Keep that in mind, that this event is scheduled right before Nintendo Switch 2. It won’t be wrong to say that indirectly, Sony is trying to steal all the spotlight from them.
A good showcase with some amazing games and surprises might turn this overnight. But for now, we have to wait patiently for the livestream, which will start at 2:30 AM IST.
