Massive memory upgrade over PS5
There are some new leaks and rumors revolving around Sony PS6, which is not going to compromise heavily on hardware performance despite the recent memory supply concerns.
According to a well-known insider, Mooreslawisdead, the next-generation PlayStation console is expected to launch with no less than 30 GB of RAM. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Sony PS6 will feature a minimum of 30 GB of RAM
The newest topic is from the highly influential hardware bloggers, Kepler and Moore, who had been speculating on Sony’s possible PS6 plans.
Kepler first said that Sony might restrict the RAM to 24GB, which will help to reduce manufacturing costs and alleviate memory scarcity in the global market.
But Moore has pushed back his claim and said that Sony is not going to release PS6 with less than 30GB of RAM.
According to Moore, Sony managed to launch PS5 for a very reasonable price during COVID, while there were massive chip shortages and even worse supply chain issues than today. They will do it again with the Sony PS6 as well.
Leaked Sony PS6 hardware specifications
Several leaks and reports have already hinted at the specifications of the upcoming console:
- A 10-core Zen 6 CPU
- 54 Compute Units based on RDNA 5 architecture
- Between 30GB and 40GB of memory
- Advanced AI-powered upscaling technology
- Improved ray tracing and performance capabilities
If this is true, then there is no doubt that this is going to be a massive jump in performance compared to the current PlayStation 5. Do remember that nothing has been officially confirmed by Sony yet.
PS6 expected release
For now, Sony has not confirmed or announced the PS6 release timeline. However, multiple insiders believe that this console may launch sometime between 2027 and 2028.
Most of the leaks point to the 2027 holiday release, which is similar to the Xbox Project Helix release as well.

Leaks suggest the PS6 could launch with at least 30GB of RAM.
Could Sony reduce the PS6 memory to 24GB?
