What happened in season 2 episode 2?

The latest episode starts with Abby and the Fireflies nearing Jackson. They were pretty determined to take revenge after Joel’s hospital massacre.

Owen wanted to abandon the plan, however, Abby was pretty determined. Meanwhile, Joel was patrolling the area alongside Dina.

Abby finds Joel and Dina in the mountains, but is pursued by a swarm of infected after uncovering reanimated bodies.

In a twist, Joel saves her from the infected, leaving Abby torn because she owes her life to her target.

Without time to rest, they run to a lodge where Abby’s crew is waiting. The Fireflies kidnap Dina and confront Joel after discovering his true identity.

Abby explains that Joel murdered her father, then viciously beat him to death with a golf club, shooting his leg first.

Ellie comes just in time to see the murder, swearing vengeance as she cradles Joel’s body, a heartbreaking scene that leaves her broken.

Ellie’s secret bite is still hidden till now, which is adding more tension to this arc. Abby’s longtime revenge has finally been fulfilled.

However, Ellie’s revenge driven story is only going to start with the upcoming The Last of Us season 2 episode 3.
