Expanding the Apocalypse

The Last of Us Season 2 trailer starts with a massive infected horde storming Jackson, Ellie and Joel’s safe haven. Now this scene is not from the original base game but from the No Return mode from The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

It’s a daring move to raise the stakes with a new scene that nevertheless seems authentic to the source. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are certainly extending their creative capabilities by adding fresh threads to the post-apocalyptic tale.

Season 1 was amazing and really set the bar high for the fans to look forward to the second season. We’re getting a lot of memories, such as Ellie and Joel’s museum excursion from the game, which had dinosaurs, spaceships, and danger.

It’s a lovely, pre-outbreak scene that will pull at your emotions before the madness begins. The cinematics and adaptation looks pretty faithful to the world setting.

Seraphites, WLF, and Abby’s Crew

The Seraphites take center stage, with spooky new pictures hinting at a deeper history dive—ideal for both novices and enthusiasts. For now, Lev and Yara remain unknown, but their cult’s influence is palpable.

Meanwhile, the WLF and Abby’s team walk into Jackson, their motivations unclear but frightening. These enhancements give the factions more depth, laying the groundwork for Season 3’s dramatic changes.

HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is looking faithful towards the original material along with some new additions and tweaks. The series is scheduled to release on April 13, 2025 and fans can’t wait to see more of Joel and Ellie’s journey.
