Fans and players have waited a very long time for the Tomb Raider Games. However, according to the latest report, Tomb Raider Catalyst, the upcoming mainline game might have been delayed to 2028.

New release window confirmed for Tomb Raider Catalyst
In a new interview with The Game Business, Amazon Games executive Jeff Gattis confirmed that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (remake) will launch on February 12, 2027 and Tomb Raider Catalyst will launch sometime in 2028.
For now, neither Amazon Games nor Crystal Dynamics has revealed the reason behind the delay of both games.
However, some reports from the industry suggest that they might need some additional time in development and it may also be connected to Amazon’s growing investment in cloud gaming through Amazon Luna.
Whatever the reasons are, the game will only benefit from having the additional time in development. The studio can refine the gameplay, improve performance and can deliver a more polished experience for the players.
Tomb Raider Catalyst may be a digital-only game
One of the biggest talking points about this game is that it may not receive a physical disc, especially on PlayStation.
Sony has already announced that they are stopping disc production starting from January 2028. Xbox is also placing a greater emphasis recently on digital distribution.
But for now, neither Amazon Games nor Crystal Dynamics has officially confirmed or revealed anything about the game getting a physical disc version. Only time will tell!
