A new mode launches on June 24, 2026
With the Season 2026 Act V, Riot Games is introducing Valorant Retake LTM, which is a brand-new 3v3 limited-time mode designed for players who enjoy the fast-paced post-plant action.
You don’t have to spend time buying weapons or looking for strategies. In Retake mode, you will be thrown to the most intense part of the game, post-plant, where you have to defuse or defend the spike plant.
Maps & release date for Valorant Retake LTM
This mode will launch on June 24, 2026, alongside the Valorant Season 2026 Act 4. It won’t use the full maps of the game.
Instead, the matches will take place on carefully selected individual bomb sites taken from existing maps. In the new update, a new map is also being released, “The Summit.”
What is Valorant Retake LTM?
This is a 3v3 round-based game mode. The round begins with the spike already planted on the site.
One team is going to play as the planters, who will defend the spike until it explodes. The other team, the Retakers, will try to push on the site to defuse the spike.
The first team to win five rounds will win the match. This is a short and fast-paced action mode that fans are surely going to enjoy a lot.
How do planters & retakers work?
Each round starts with the Spike automatically planting itself in a visible area with a countdown time.
Planters
- Directly spawn on the bomb site.
- Must protect the planted spike.
- Win by eliminating the retakers or allowing the spike to detonate.
Retakers
- They are spawned outside of the site.
- Push towards the objective area.
- Win by eliminating all planters and defusing the planted spike.
Teams will also switch sides after every round, which will allow players to play as both Planters and Retakers.
