Digital Extremes has officially confirmed that the Warframe Switch 2 Native version is currently in development. This was announced through official social media channels.
The studio highlighted major performance upgrades & visual upgrades planned for Switch 2. In the post, it stated, “A native version of #Warframe is on its way to the Nintendo Switch 2.”

Warframe Switch 2: Major performance upgrades
As of now, Warframe is only playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, but it comes with technical limitations.
The game is capped at 30fps and uses dynamic resolution scaling. This impacts visual clarity during the intense combat.
During Devstream 192, held on January 23, 2026, Digital Extremes have confirmed that the native Switch 2 version is going to address these issues.
The new dedicated build is targeting 60fps with locked 1080p resolution. With this, the Switch 2 owners will be able to experience the game similarly to Xbox and PlayStation owners.
You can also expect enhanced texture filtering, sharper visuals, more polished environments, characters and more.
Release window & platform expansion plans
Warframe Switch 2 Native version is currently scheduled for Q1 2026, although a specific release date has not been officially announced yet.
