Warhorse Studios officially developing Lord of the Rings game & new Kingdom Come Deliverance

All the leaks and rumors were true, as Warhorse Studios has now officially confirmed that they are developing the Lord of the Rings game set in Middle-Earth and a new Kingdom Come Deliverance title as well.

Warhorse Studios confirms two major RPG titles

Just a few hours ago, the official Warhorse Studios social media account on X, posted the confirmation about the two new projects that are in the development.

One of them is the completely new Kingdom Come adventure, while the second one is the ambitious open-world RPG set in Middle-earth.

Now, this has marked the first time that the studio will be working on a licensed fantasy franchise, which also makes it one of the biggest projects in the franchise.

Lord of the Rings is a very big name and there is no doubt that there will be a lot of pressure and expectations on the studio right now.

Apart from this, the studios have not revealed any gameplay footage, trailer, key visual or the release window for both projects.

Middle-earth RPG could be a massive game

The previous reports and leaks have suggested that the Lord of the Rings game project is also tied to Embracer Group’s $100 million game.

Unlike the realistic medieval setting of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the new Middle-earth RPG will likely feature fantasy creatures, magic, large-scale battles, and iconic locations from Tolkien’s universe.

It would be interesting to see how the studios will adapt to hardcore RPG mechanics, a realistic combat system and immersive storytelling for the game.

A new Kingdom Come adventure

Apart from the Lord of the Rings game, we are also getting a new Kingdom Come Deliverance adventure. Now, it is not confirmed whether it is going to be Kingdom Come Deliverance 3 or a completely new game in the same universe.

This series has been praised for its historically accurate world design, deep role-playing systems, and realistic sword combat and has built a very loyal fan base for the franchise.
