After cancelling PUBG Black Budget, Krafton has officially revealed the new spin-off game, PUBG DED.NET and it looks very different from the traditional battle royale game.
It has the core PUBG formula but with a faster pace, hero-based abilities and roguelike progression. Let’s check out some more details in this article.
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
New 90s setting instead of Erangel in PUBG DED.NET
This game is not taking place in Erangel. Instead, it will take place in Cascadia, which is a fictional region inspired by the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
On the map, you can clearly feel the nostalgic 1990s atmosphere. There are abandoned towns, gas stations, payphones, aging vehicles, and roadside buildings. This creates a very unique drop location that we haven’t seen so far in the PUBG games.
From the trailer, the game’s tone looks less serious. Along with the traditional weapons and survival mechanics, there are also unusual power-ups for the gameplay.
In one of the abilities, it allows strange creatures to assist in combat. In another one, you can transform into a powerful monster, but it will reveal your location on the map.
Smaller map & faster matches
The PUBG DED.NET will have shorter and faster action-packed matches. This game uses a smaller 5×5 km map with a maximum of 60 players. It is expected that matches will be finished around the 20-minute mark.
The faster pace will provide a more aggressive approach to players rather than camping or looting.
Heroes, roguelike progression & more
It will introduce nine playable characters, each equipped with unique abilities. In between the rounds, you can unlock additional perks. You can also get permanent injuries. This will create a more roguelike progression style and will encourage players to try out the different playstyles.
For now, Krafton has not announced the official release date. However, players can register for the future beta testing of PUBG DED.NET through the official website.
