No more hand-holding!
Insomniac Games has released a new Marvel’s Wolverine update 1.001.006, where players will now have greater control over the game’s exploration.
In the new update, players will get the option to disable several of the title’s guidance systems. There will be much less hand-holding now.
This latest patch is based on a previous patch that had decreased the visibility of scent trails. It’s the same developer, but with this release they’ve taken an extra step, introducing dedicated toggles for various “Senses” features, as well as a number of bug fixes and stability improvements.

New senses toggle
In the new Marvel’s Wolverine update, you can now disable several of the game’s guidance mechanics through the settings menu. Here’s what you can turn off:
- Whisky Bottle Scent Trails
- Material Crate Audio Clues
- Nightmare Door Roots
Those who like to play it safe or prefer an easier experience will be able to turn them off with the new update and play through the base game on exploration alone.
But Story-critical Senses will still show, so there are some guiding elements that can’t be removed at this time that rely on the primary story.
Bug fixes, crashes & photo mode issues
In the new Marvel’s Wolverine update, there are also many quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
There have been reports from the community about multiple crashes, which have now been fixed. In the “The One That Got Away” mission, sometimes players will get stuck after sliding down from a tree, which has also been fixed.
In photo mode, misaligned Wolverine claws have been fixed, along with many small bugs and fixes.
According to reports, the game has already sold around 2 million copies so far. It is available to play on PS5 and PS5 Pro.

What bugs does update 1.001.006 fix?
The patch fixes several crashes, resolves a progression bug in “The One That Got Away” mission, corrects Photo Mode claw alignment, fixes a rare white-object visual glitch, and repairs the casino bathroom sign affected by a UV mapping issue.
Can you completely turn off all Senses in Marvel’s Wolverine?
No. While most optional Senses can now be disabled, Story-critical Senses will still appear during the main campaign.
