2K Games and Visual Concepts’ upcoming wrestling game, WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be one of the most realistic wrestling games in recent years. Ahead of the global launch on March 13, 2026, gameplay designer Cornell Gunter has shared some new details about the game.
This time, the game is getting an updated physics engine, which improves how wrestlers interact with weapons and environments. Let’s check out more details in this article.
New ragdoll physics removes invisible barriers
One of the most notable changes this time is the removal of so-called “invisible walls,” which happen during certain moves. In all the previous titles, fans and players have experienced this awkward moment.
Wrestling moves wouldn’t properly connect with weapons or surroundings due to restricted collision detection.
This is aimed at by the new ragdoll physics system. It will now be possible to smash wrestlers against chairs, tables, or other weapons and create more dynamic and surprising situations during matches.
This upgrade will be more noticeable during the hardcore and no disqualification matches, adding more depth and realism to WWE 2K26.
Gunter also explained that the team focused more on making this collision feel more authentic and real. Superstars will also react based on how and where they have landed.

New gameplay upgrades in WWE 2K26
Alongside gameplay improvements, we are also getting fan favourite match types like Inferno Matches and 3 Stages of Hell. These new match types will feel better and more realistic with the new physics system. No more scripted sequences and more organic feel during the match.
The game gives greater customization options as well. Now the players have the opportunity to adjust their entrance displays, such as pyro effects, camera angles and overall presentation style, before the match commences.
Still another important enhancement is enhanced AI customisation. Players will be given the opportunity to control AI-controlled superstars to play some specific moves in order to make bouts smoother and closer to the storytelling of real-life wrestling.
