A full presentation will take place at GDC next week!

Microsoft Xbox and Asha Sharma have finally revealed the details on the next-gen console, Xbox Project Helix, recently and fans are already wondering about the price, specs and more.

According to some latest reports from industry insiders, this next-gen console will be a significant upgrade over the Xbox Series X, especially in graphics and ray tracing. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Possible pricing & release window for Xbox Project Helix

According to a technical analysis shared by Moore’s Law Is Dead, this next-gen Xbox could offer around five to six times faster rasterization performance and 20 times improvement in ray tracing.

For now, Xbox has not confirmed a release window or any other details, but early estimates suggest that this could launch in 2027.

This powerful device will come with a higher price tag. The early projections are somewhere between $999 and $1,200. The price range will depend on Microsoft’s pricing strategy and production costs.

Major hardware upgrades

There are already some leaks about the hardware and performance. This performance upgrade is largely tied to a new AMD processor known as the Magnus APU.

This chip reportedly uses RDNA 5 graphics architecture along with Zen 6 CPU cores. Interestingly, rumors indicate that the Magnus APU can have approximately 30 percent more compute units than the Series X.

Nonetheless, the introduction of architectural improvements in RDNA 5 may make each unit approximately 65 per cent faster, leading to a massive overall graphical improvement.

This improvement may enable the system to drive the performance far beyond the current limit and lead to smoother gameplay with faster frame rates.

Xbox Project Helix might provide 120 FPS Gaming & Hybrid Console-PC design

The report also suggests that Xbox Project Helix may target frame rates exceeding 120 FPS. This will be a major step for console gaming.

The CPU is rumored to feature a hybrid combining up to three Zen 6 cores with eight Zen 6c cores. This could help the Helix to handle both traditional console titles and PC style gaming.

The rumors also suggest that this may function as a hybrid console-PC platform. This will allow us to run both Xbox games and PC games.
