Five interesting facts to know about Diksha Dagar
The 22-year-old is the only Indian to take part in both Olympics and Deaflympics.
Diksha Dagar has won the 2023 Czech Ladies Open with a 13-under par score (65, 69, 65) and 4 shots above second placed Trichat Cheenglab to clinch the third title of her career; the second Ladies European Tour (LET) title overall. Her 2023 season has been great so far, with three top-10 finishes in his last four tournaments. In a country where golf is considered the sport of riches and is misconstrued by most people, Diksha along with Aditi Ashok has put India firmly on the map on the global stage.
During the 2020 Scottish Open, she along with Aditi Ashok and Tvesha Malik became the first trio of golfers from India to take part in a single event at the Ladies European Tour. Diksha started playing golf at the age of 7, along with her brother Yogesh Dagar. She was coached by her father Col Narinder Dagar, a former scratch golfer who serves in the army.
In 2016, she became the only Indian to be ranked within the top 500 in the U-18 category and is currently ranked 297 in the seniors.

5. First Professional Title at the age of 18
Diksha won her first professional title in March 2019, aged 18. After winning the 2019 Investec South Africa Women’s Open, the two-time Deaflympics medalist became the youngest Indian to clinch the Ladies European Title. She defeated South Africa's three-time champion Lee-Anne Pace by one shot. With this win, she became the first deaf player to win an LET event.
4. Second Indian to clinch more than one Ladies European Tour title
After winning the Czech Ladies' Open in 2023, Diksha became the second Indian female golfer after Aditi Ashok to win a Ladies European Tour title event more than once. The 2019 Investec South Africa Women’s Open victory was her first Ladies' European title.
3. Two- times Deaflympics Medalist
Diksha won the silver medal in the individual women's golf event at the 2017 Deaflympics, going down to Kaylin Yost of the USA (0-1). She then upgraded her silver medal to gold at the 2021 Deaflympics after defeating Ashlyn Grace of the USA in the final. She also becomes the first and only golfer to secure two Deaflympics medals.
2. Only Golfer in history to compete at both Olympics and Deaflympics
Defying the odds, Diksha scripted history after she got the chance to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, thus becoming the only golfer to compete at both the Olympics and Deaflympics. She also becomes the ninth person to compete in both the Olympics and Deaflympics. The 24-year-old however finished tied for 50th with a six over score at the Olympics. She gained valuable experience, which she is now using at the Ladies European Tour.
1. Registered best score by an Indian in Thailand's Queen Sirikit Cup history
In an event where India has struggled traditionally, Diksha created history by registering the best-ever score by an Indian at the Thailand Queen Sirikit Cup on June 2018, with a score of three under 69 and helped the Indian team finish sixth in the women's team events. She also went four under at the same event, the lowest any Indian has gone in the Queen Sirikit Cup history.
