Scheffler is the 3-1 favourite, while Spieth is 18-1.
The Charles Schwab Challenge 2024, set for May 23, is expected to be won by Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. Scheffler is the 3-1 favourite, while Spieth is 18-1. SportsLine’s proprietary computer model, developed by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been successful since the PGA Tour restarted in June 2020, with best bets increasing almost $9,000 since then.
Collin Morikawa, a two-time major champion and top favourite, could struggle at the Charles Schwab Challenge 2024. After a strong performance at the PGA Championship, Morikawa has only won once since claiming his second major title at the Open Championship in 2021.
He has struggled at Colonial Country Club, finishing T-29 or worse in his last two starts. Morikawa enters the Charles Schwab Challenge 2024 ranked 103rd in strokes gained: an approach to green (-0.040) and 131st in greens in regulation percentage (64.13%). Colonial’s emphasis on accurate iron shots may hinder Morikawa’s chances to finish on top of the leaderboard.
Min Woo Lee, a 35-1 longshot, is making a strong run at the Charles Schwab Challenge 2024. With an average of 311.3 yards per drive this season, Lee ranks eighth on the PGA Tour. He also ranks second in total driving, 10th in strokes gained off the tee, and 20th in driving accuracy.
Lee has been consistent this season, missing the cut only once in 10 starts. If he can drain some putts this week, he has a great shot at being in contention at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge.
