In 2015, English held the co-lead at the 54-hole stage of the Farmers Insurance Open but lost in a playoff to J. B. Holmes, Jason Day, and Scott Stallings. In 2021, he won the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii in a playoff over Joaquín Niemann. English also won the Travelers Championship in June 2021, securing the second-longest playoff in PGA Tour history.
English played on the US team in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, where the US team won 19–9. English went 1–2–0 in the tournament, including a loss in his Sunday singles match against Lee Westwood.
English has not yet won a Major championship but has had notable performances in several PGA Majors. His best finishes include a tie for 21st at the 2021 Masters Tournament, a tie for 19th at the 2020 PGA Championship, a third-place finish at the 2021 U.S. Open, and a tie for 15th at the 2013 Open Championship.
