The Hero Women’s Indian Open 2024 will get underway at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram on October 24, with 114 players from 31 countries competing for a prize purse of USD 400,000.

The four-day tournament, running from the 24th to the 27th, will be played with 27 Indian golfers, which also includes the young back-to-back Ladies European Tour winner Diksha Dagar, who has earned a fine current standing of 22 in the Order of Merit. The other participants in the tournament are Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Pranavi Urs, and Tvesa Malik.

With the defending champion, Aline Krauter is absent from this event, three former champions will compete: Caroline Hedwall from 2011, Camille Chevalier from 2017, and Christine Wolf from 2019. The event seeks India’s second winner after Aditi Ashok won in 2016.

Order of Merit leader Chiara Tamburlini enters the contest fresh from her recent win at the Wistron Ladies Open in Taiwan. The Swiss lady could claim the top spot for the season if she manages to score 10 points better than second-placed Manon De Roey.

The tournament has brought some healthy international flair, with Mexico’s LPGA star Maria Fassi and six winners of the 2024 LET season. Two players ranked in the world’s top 100 are entering: Tamburlini and Perrine Delacour of France. Nine others ranked between 101 and 200 are joining in on the action.
