Chris Gotterup won $720,000 in prize money at the Myrtle Beach Classic 2024.

Chris Gotterup claimed the Myrtle Beach Classic 2024 which was held at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, South Carolina. The tournament’s last round took place on May 12 (Sunday) and ended another PGA Tour of the year. 

Gotterup, the 2022 Haskins Award winner, took a one-shot lead in the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, tying the largest lead after three rounds on Tour this season. In the final round, he birdied three of his last four holes, resulting in a six-shot win over Alistair Docherty and Davis Thompson, the largest margin of victory this year. Gotterup celebrated his victory with family on Mother’s Day.

Myrtle Beach Classic 2024 prize money

Gotterup won his 27th start, becoming the seventh first-time winner in 2024. He received a $720,000 first-place check and entered the PGA Championship at Valhalla. Gotterup is the fourth rookie to win on the PGA Tour in 2024. Other top finishers include Ryan McCormick, Beau Hossler, Kevin Yu, Ryan Fox, and Jorge Campillo.
