Tom Kim, a rising star in the world of professional golf, has recently made a change in his caddie lineup. Kim, currently ranked No. #11 in the world, has parted ways with his long-time caddie Joe Skovron and hired Daniel Parratt, who previously worked with Kim’s International Team Presidents Cup teammate K.H. Lee.
Kim’s new caddie, Daniel Parratt, brings a wealth of experience to the table. Parratt has worked with Lee, a fellow International Team member, and has been involved in several high-profile tournaments. His addition to Kim’s team is expected to bring a fresh perspective and new strategies to Kim’s game.
Daniel Parratt is a veteran caddie with extensive experience across the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. He has worked with several notable golfers, including K.H. Lee, Ben An, Alex Noren, and Robert Karlsson.
Joe Skovron replaced by Daniel Parratt
Skovron, who has worked with Kim since his early days on the PGA Tour, has been instrumental in Kim’s success, including his wins at the Shriners Children’s Open and his standout performance at the 2022 Presidents Cup. Kim’s agent declined to comment on the caddie change, but it is clear that Skovron’s departure marks a significant shift in Kim’s support team.
Kim’s change in caddies comes as he looks to build on his impressive 2023 season, which included a tie for fourth at the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan.
Ludvig Aberg to Cameron Young: Change in caddie
The change comes amidst the caddie merry-go-round, where several top-ranked players are switching gears and caddies ahead of the new season. Ludvig Aberg, ranked No. #30 in the Official World Golf Ranking, was the first to make a move, hiring Skovron away from Kim.
The caddie carousel is not limited to Kim, as other top-ranked players are also making changes. Cameron Young, ranked No. #21 in the world, will have a new caddie next season after Paul Tesori, who has worked with Webb Simpson for over a decade, joined veteran pro-Brendon Todd.
Tesori’s decision to leave Young was reportedly due to his own back injury and the opportunity to work with a more experienced player. It remains unclear who will be Young’s caddie next season, but with the new season set to commence on January 4, the answer will not be long in coming.
