India play New Zealand in the pre quarter-final round.

The group stage of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 came to an end on Friday. The top four teams in each Pool proceeded directly to the quarter-finals. The remaining eight teams—second and third-placed sides from each group — will face off in four crossovers matches on January 22 and 23 to determine the other four quarter-finalists.

The winners of the pool matches—Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, and England—will compete against the winners of the crossover matches in the final eight stage.

Spain have performed poorly in the current World Cup, losing to India 0-2 and England 0-4. Spain's Group D series ended with a 5-1 victory over Wales. They will cross paths with Malaysia on Monday at the Kalinga Stadium.

After a victory over Wales, India will now play New Zealand in a crossovers match in order to advance to the quarter-finals. The game is slated to take place on January 22nd.

India and New Zealand have competed against one other 44 times. With 24 victories to New Zealand's 15, India leads the head-to-head record, while five games ended in draws. However, the Men in blue have not offered much going forward scoring only six goals in the group.

Hardik Singh's injury and his ouster from the tournament will weigh heavily on the hosts. They will have to overcome the difficulties if they want to proceed to the quarter-finals. India has been efficient from the penalty corners with captain Harmanpreet Singh scoring from one in the last match against Wales. But the scoring woes will be a matter of concern for Graham Reid.

Below is the Crossovers round fixtures and schedule for Men's Hockey World Cup 2023.
