Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 Updated Schedule: Day 4
Heavyweights Netherlands and Australia will be in action.
India and England played out a goalless draw on day three of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 while Spain scored five past Wales in the schedule. India and England's lacklustre performance in front of the goal was perfectly foiled by the Miralles and Reyne of the Spanish squad who scored a brace each. Veteran leader Iglesias also joined the scoresheet as they outclassed the Wales side.
Day 4, however, is going to be a blockbuster as we have matches of two king-pins of the game, Netherlands and Australia. Both of them have won three World Cup titles each. Netherlands in 1973, 1990, and 1998 and Australia in 1986, 2010, and 2014.
Australia is going up against South American giants as they look to continue on their winning run after a massive 8-0 win in the first match.
Colin Batch, the coach of the Kookaburras, said, “Argentina has a different style. They are celebrating their football World Cup win, so they are on a high at the moment. They been very successful in the last five or six years, they will be a very big threat to us.”
The next four matches will see Malaysia take on Chile and New Zealand take on Netherlands before France and Argentina meet South Africa and Australia respectively. Let’s look at the action-packed schedule we have on Day 4.
France, after their utter demolition in the first match, would want to make some sort of a comeback against South Africa to give them some hopes to survive in the tournament.
