India extended their lead in the third quarter when Harmanpreet Singh netted his second goal of the match in the 32nd minute. The Australians fought back, with Blake Govers scoring from a penalty in the 55th minute, setting up a tense finish. However, the Indian defense held firm to secure the 3-2 victory.
