Craig Fulton conducts coaching session for head coaches of hockey member units

The aim of the session was to elevate the coaching standards within the domestic circuit.

Indian men's hockey team head coach, Craig Fulton, conducted a coaching session on Friday for the head coaches of the member units participating in the 13th Hockey India Senior National Championship 2023.

The aim of this session, organized at the Conference Hall of the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, was to elevate coaching standards within the domestic circuit. This session provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange among the coaches.

Notable head coaches who participated in the session included Batham Sumit from Jharkhand, Vinay Kishor from Uttarakhand, Daljeet Singh from Punjab, Mukesh Kumar from Haryana, Yendala Sagar from Telangana, Satender Sharma from Delhi, Moirangthem Rinash Mettei from Manipur, Aravindan Ramachandran from Le Puducherry, Charles Dixon from Tamil Nadu, and Deepak Saini from Arunachal.

The interactive coaching session, facilitated by Craig Fulton, covered diverse topics, including Indian principles of play both with and without the ball, strategic game management in relation to the score and remaining time, and effective player management considering the demanding schedule, among other crucial aspects.

Reflecting on the session, Craig Fulton remarked, "It was very satisfying to interact with coaches from the home setup. It was an interactive session, and I believe we all learned a lot. It's essential to continuously raise the bar for coaching standards across the nation. Ensuring this will better prepare players advancing to the Indian setup for significant career advancements."
