Which cities will host Hockey India League 2024-25?

Hockey India League is making a comeback after a seven-year hiatus.

The Hockey India League (HIL) is making a big comeback after seven years. The 2024-25 season will have eight men’s teams and six women’s teams respectively. This is the first time women will have their own league alongside the men’s competition.

Hockey India has announced this today, thereby showing that it wants to develop men and women in hockey. This will make Indian hockey stronger in all parts of the world.

Being brought back, HIL will never be the same for hockey in India. Meanwhile, adding a women’s league is a gigantic stride forward. Women get a chance to prove how good they really are. It will make Indian hockey fairer and much more competitive for everyone as a whole.

New HIL will make hockey excitement for its fans. The opportunity for players to be at higher levels of performance is more. Therefore, this would help India do better in international hockey tournaments.With more teams and players in the fray, the new HIL may bring more bucks into hockey in India.

• Odisha – Vedanta Limited
• Hyderabad – Resolute Sports
• Ranchi – Navoyam Sports Ventures Private Limited

Women’s Franchises and Their Owners:

• Haryana – JSW Sports
• West Bengal – Shrachi Sports
• Delhi – SG Sports and Entertainment
• Odisha – Navoyam Sports Ventures Private Limited

Note: Two more women’s franchises will be announced soon after the conclusion of legal proceedings.

Which cities will host Hockey India League (HIL)?

The Hockey India League (HIL) 2024-25 will be hosted in two key cities:

1. Ranchi, Jharkhand:
   • Venue: Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium
   • Will host: All women’s matches
   • Special event: Women’s league final on January 26, 2025
2. Rourkela, Odisha:
   • Venue: Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium
   • Will host: All men’s matches
   • Special event: Men’s final on February 1, 2025
