Hockey India League Player Auction: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch?

The previous edition of Hockey India League took place in 2017.

The Hockey India League Player Auction is set to begin soon as the players from all over the globe will hope to get drafted. The tournament will resume after having taken a 7-year hiatus as this time the women’s league will also take place concurrently. Each of the eight franchises will have a men’s and women’s team.

Before the matches get underway on December 28, fans will be eager to know the teams their favourite players will be representing. The players auction will see the top players from India and overseas featuring as teammates. The rivalry will be renewed between players as the younger players will get to spend time with their idols and also compete against them.

The women’s competition is set to make its debut this season. The first five editions of the event starting from 2012 till 2017 saw the men’s competition take place. With the addition of women players, the numbers will rise up during the auction. Over 1,000 players have registered for the auction.

The numbers look promising as there will be more than 400 Indian players including juniors and joining them would be over 150 overseas players. In the women’s draw, more than 250 Indian players including juniors will be in the auction as over 70 overseas players will also be taking part.

The auction will see players in three base price categories that they choose for themselves starting from INR 2,00,000, INR 5,00,000, and INR 10,00,000.

Former players such as Dharamvir Singh, Birendra Lakra and Rupinder Pal Singh will be part of the auction as fans will once again witness them in action. In the women’s side, Yogita Bali, Lilima Minz and Namita Toppo will be hoping to make a comeback.

When and where will Hockey India League Player Auction take place?

The Hockey India League Player Auction will take place from October 13 to 15. The auction will be held at Hyatt Regency in New Delhi. The men’s auction will take place on October 13, 14 while the women’s auction will be on October 15.
